Are you a companion planter? If you are, you'll know how effective this gardening practice is. Certain plants in our gardens flourish best when grown together. Gardeners intentionally choose to plant in a way that encourages growth and harmony, improves plant health, and creates healthier and fuller yields. At the Central Alberta Pregnancy Care Centre, companion planting is complimentary to our belief that families flourish best in an encouraging and resource-rich environment.
We believe in the power of 'Growing Together,' such as a mother and father-to-be connecting with their unborn child, the attachment that grows between a parent and child, and growing together as a couple and a family. For our volunteers and staff, growing together is a bond with clients that yields a sense of belonging and provides security and comfort. Clients build inner strength, knowing they have the loving care of someone nearby. Clients who desire the spiritual component of our programs learn about what it means to grow in Christ.
You, too, are part of our community that encourages growth and is a source of strength to happy, healthy families, and we are grateful you are part of this journey with us. We need your help to continue to assist those who need our programs. Your donation gives access to judgement-free support and a safe space for the abortion-vulnerable woman. It helps a man learn how to be in a healthy relationship and prepare for fatherhood. For the young pregnant woman who is asked to leave the only home she's ever known, your monthly donation provides a safe place for her to live, grow and raise her young child in our maternity home. These are just a few examples of the impact of your donation.
Like our clients, tiny seeds are dropped in the dirt, covered in darkness and struggle to reach the light. But with your support, once they do, they thrive!

"Early in my pregnancy, I decided to pursue open adoption with a couple who desperately wanted a child to shower with their abundance of love. I wanted my baby to have a mom and dad and a stable home where he could thrive. When my son was born, my family and I grieved deeply for the little boy we had just met. I mourned as if my baby had died, and in a sense, he did. My baby died and became someone else's child. It was the most difficult decision I've ever made, but I know it was the best decision."
