2026 September Appeal

Have you ever thought about how a mirror works? It can't generate its own light. It simply catches light from another source and reflects it back into the room. If you're like me, you may look in the mirror and notice faint, tired lines on your face, subtle signs of sleepless nights and unspoken worries, while feeling the weight of the day already settling on your shoulders. It is easy to focus on our flaws. We look into society's mirror and see a struggle. We might feel defined by difficult times, poverty, or loneliness. When crisis hits—whether it is a sudden job loss or a family breakdown—the world's reflection can feel incredibly harsh.  Society often judges people by their worst. This distorted mirror tells a parent they are failing or whispers to a child that they don't matter.

But grace changes the image in the mirror entirely. The portrait of a struggling mother doesn't see failure; instead, she sees someone who is deeply loved. A discouraged father does not see a dead end; he sees a path forward. This is exactly what it means to be a portrait of grace. We don't have to generate our own goodness, strength, or love.  Grace is the one thing the world can't duplicate and the one thing we crave most. Only grace can bring hope and transformation to a jaded world, a world that knows far more cruelty and unforgiveness than it does mercy.

Whenever our staff and volunteers meet a family, we choose to hold up a mirror of grace.  Every interaction and every shared prayer help wipe the grime from the mirror's glass so individuals and families can see themselves clearly—valued, loved, and full of potential. The pain that has entered someone's story does not have to define its conclusion. Even wounded places can be embraced with grace, transforming how we carry and heal from our wounds.  We want every man, woman and child we serve to see their true worth. We listen to their stories without judgment. We look past their hardships to see the strength and hope placed inside each person.

Thank you for helping us make these portraits of grace possible. When you give, pray, or volunteer, you act as a clear mirror for families in dark places, reflecting warmth and kindness. Thank you for helping us bring light and hope to families who need it most.  Together, we can change what they see when they look toward tomorrow.

With Gratitude,

We are thrilled to host our 2026 Fall Banquet at the Red Deer Resort & Casino Event Centre. This event is an opportunity to celebrate the living, breathing masterpieces who walk through our doors every day. People whose stories are being rewritten from the dark shadows of fear, anxiety, and isolation into the vibrant colours of hope, community, and unconditional support.

"My girlfriend and I had broken up, and I felt heartbroken and angry at the situation. I didn't know how to be a good dad while I was dealing with my feelings of rejection. Thankfully, I met with a male mentor at the CAPCC. I have regained my confidence and learned how to make better choices in my relationships, which has helped me become a better dad.”

Razor Nudge is one of those upcoming releases where the title tells you more than the available technical information. It is part of Push Gaming’s Razor series, and the word Nudge clearly points toward the central concept. That caught my attention, although I think it is too early to judge how the feature will actually work. The planned release date is September 30, 2026, and there is currently no demo to test. Things like RTP, maximum win, volatility, grid layout, paylines, Wilds, Scatters, free spins and other features have not been confirmed. I prefer having those details before deciding whether a new game deserves my time, so for now I’m simply following the updates. There is enough here to be…
