DID YOU KNOW that saying "I'm fine" is the most common lie in the English language?
It's a quick, habitual reply many of us use in social situations to hide our true feelings or struggles. Often, it's nearly automatic: when someone asks, "How are you?" the response, "I'm fine," is almost involuntary. We say it so naturally that we sometimes start to believe it ourselves. Behind that simple phrase, we may feel overwhelmed or quietly be dealing with something we can't quite put into words. Why do we hide our true feelings? Maybe we don't want to appear weak or burden others. Perhaps we're afraid that admitting our struggles will make them real. Pretending to be okay doesn't erase our struggles; it only pushes them deeper.
True strength lies not in pretending everything is fine, but in being honest. Sharing our difficulties doesn't make us weak; it makes us human. At the Central Alberta Pregnancy Care Centre, we encourage our clients to recognize that their emotions aren't a sign of weakness but the start of healing. Whether a client expresses fear, sadness, worry, anger, or excitement, we are here to walk alongside them with compassion, offering a listening ear, practical support, and education throughout their journey.
Thanks to you, we're making great strides in improving mental health for parents and families. Together, we're reducing emotional distress and encouraging healthy choices. We're creating a welcoming environment where every parent feels well-informed and confident during pregnancy and childbirth. Our collective efforts are building healthier, more resilient communities where both parents and children can truly flourish! Because of you, we're able to invest in a future where men are not only ready to lead and parent with integrity but also dedicated to nurturing healthy families. Your support provides more than just shelter – our Maternity Home offers belonging, dignity, and hope for the future. When parents receive the support they need, children thrive!
With Gratitude,

P.S. Thank you for cheering us on, for your prayers, kind wishes, and financial support. As summer approaches, our donations usually decline, but our programs continue. We appreciate any donations, whether one-time or monthly, throughout the summer.
A DECADE OF SERVING

This year marks a significant milestone as we celebrate the 10-year anniversary of our Rocky Mountain House Centre location! Guided by an exceptional team of dedicated staff and volunteers, the Rocky Centre has remained committed to our mission: to equip and empower individuals and their families with invaluable pregnancy-related resources.
In May 2016, we proudly welcomed our very first resident into the Aerie Maternity Home program. Over the past decade, we have been honoured to walk alongside more than 80 mothers and 80 children, nurturing them in a safe and stable living environment that emphasizes structure, accountability, and a strong sense of community. We have worked hard to ensure that everyone who comes through our doors feels heard, that each unique story is honoured, and that all the families we serve receive the support they need, not only to survive but to truly thrive. Together, we are making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we support!

"My boyfriend was abusive and broke up with me when I wouldn't have an abortion. Now that I was on my own, I was so scared. I came to the CAPCC for support, and my client advocate validated my feelings, encouraged me and provided many resources to
help me plan for the future.
I'm so thankful to have had someone to talk to, so I didn't feel so alone."
