November 2020 Service Guide

The Central Alberta Pregnancy Care Centre provides compassionate support and education for individuals and families impacted by unexpected pregnancy and its effects. All of our programs and services are free*, confidential, and are offered in a safe and nonjudgmental environment regardless of age, gender, race or religion. We currently have offices in Red Deer, Olds, Rocky Mountain House, and Drumheller and will soon be offering services in Stettler. Being primarily privately funded, we rely on the generosity of our community to enable us to successfully run our programs throughout Central Alberta. This guide gives examples of where your donation may be used by the CAPCC. All gifts are welcome and will go towards the operating funds of the CAPCC to allow us to continue to provide services. We appreciate the suggested donation amounts or any other amount you choose to give.

*Maternity Home residents contribute financially to the program fees as they are able.

Groceries for 1 month in Phase 1 of the Maternity Home

The Aerie Maternity Home is a two phase maternity home program for pregnant teens and young women and is staffed 24/7. It offers a nurturing home, supporting healthy pregnancy and positive parenting. Phase 1 has the capacity for four pregnant or parenting women to live together. Each resident has their own bedroom and bathroom with a common living space and kitchen. This environment encourages the women to develop a community by preparing meals together and supporting each other as they adjust to becoming parents.

Suggested donation $1500

Costs for 1 month of a mom and her child in Phase 2 of the Maternity Home

Phase 2 of The Aerie has the capacity for 7 women and their infants. In this phase, they have their own apartments while still being able to access support staff day and night. Residents who meet the eligibility criteria enter Phase 1 of the program during their pregnancy and move into Phase 2 when their infant is approximately 6 months of age. Phase 2 residents who continue to meet program outcomes are invited to stay until their child is approximately 2 years of age. While in Phase 2, clients will pursue education and/or employment while continuing to strengthen their parenting and life skills.
