2025 Impact Report

I recently read some interesting facts about bison, the largest animal in North America. Most adult males weigh over 2,000 pounds, and females weigh nearly 1,000. DID YOU KNOW that bison can jump six-foot fences and run 50 km per hour despite their size? But their most remarkable trait is their bravery. During a winter storm, bison instinctively move toward the storm instead of running away. In doing so, they prevent snow, ice, and cold air from blowing under their dense, woolly winter coats, keeping them warm. Their courage in the face of adversity is truly inspiring.

Many clients we worked with over the past year faced a storm of brokenness, feeling overwhelmed by trauma impacting major life decisions. Through our support, they found strength and hope, encouraging us all to believe in resilience and recovery.

We can all learn from the bison's resilience—walking toward challenges despite circumstances. At the Central Alberta Pregnancy Care Centre, we want our clients to feel empowered, knowing they don't have to face their storms alone. We are here to support and guide them toward hope and wholeness.

We are deeply grateful for your kindness and financial gifts this past year, which directly support programs like the Aerie Maternity Home, leading to greater emotional stability, safer pregnancies, and stronger families in our community.

MATERNITY HOME PROGRAM

2026 marks the 10th Anniversary of the Maternity Home Program. Over the past decade, we’ve learned that the journey to motherhood can already feel overwhelming—facing it without a safe place to call home can feel impossible. We’ve learned that when mothers are supported, children thrive, and when families are strengthened, communities grow healthier.

We’ve witnessed life-changing outcomes in residents, including:

  • Greater emotional and family stability

  • Safer pregnancies and birth outcomes

  • Increased financial security

  • Healthy parent-child bonding

  • Reduced reliance on crisis services

  • Stronger long-term family foundations

With your continued support, we can help build a better future together for the women and families who access the Maternity Home Program for another ten years and beyond. Let’s write the next chapter together!
