We live in a disposable society where, if something breaks, we often simply throw it away. In Japan, broken objects like pottery or ceramics undergo a process called Kintsugi.  This technique involves repairing them with lacquer mixed with or dusted with gold, silver, or platinum.  Kintsugi literally means "patched with gold."  The artist views the breakage and repair of a teacup or vase as beautifully broken—part of its history—and not something to hide.  Beautifully broken captures two opposing ideas: beauty and brokenness.  While "broken" usually indicates something is flawed or damaged, "beautiful" suggests perfection and wholeness.  This image serves as a reminder that broken objects can not only be repaired but also made stronger instead of being discarded.  The golden patch lines tell a story of the object's adversity and resilience.

Beautifully broken serves as a metaphor for accepting one's flaws and imperfections in life.  Many of our clients at the CAPCC see themselves as broken when they first arrive.  Some have experienced insurmountable challenges in life, where defeat is etched on their faces.  By welcoming clients with open arms in a safe, judgment free environment, we can start helping them piece their brokenness back together.  Clients rediscover their value and self-worth, begin to heal from painful experiences, build confidence, and continue growing into the best version of themselves.  It is a privilege to support the clients' gold patches as we witness their transformation of brokenness into something beautiful, useful, and even more precious than before.

Because you believe in the work of the CAPCC, your financial gift is a patch of gold that helps men and women find value and strength through difficult experiences.  Your ongoing support helps clients recognize their potential and teaches them that resilience emerges from hardships.  Your contribution to our programs means men and women find healing and restoration, where brokenness is transformed into something new and beautiful.  You will never know the true impact of your generosity!

With gratitude,

Red Deer Resort & Casino Event Centre

Main Event Begins at 6:00 PM

This event is FREE. Registration is required.

We are thrilled to host our 2025 Fall Banquet at the Red Deer Resort & Casino Event Centre. This event is an opportunity to come together, embrace each other's strengths, lift one another through challenges, and create a space where everyone can flourish.

"I wasn't ready to be a mother.  I was living a lifestyle that wasn't conducive to raising a child, and I knew my baby needed a better chance in life than what I could provide.  Adoption is a brave choice, and it was the hardest things I have ever done.

My sweet little girl is now with a loving family and has all the opportunities that I had prayed for her to have.  Thank you so much to the CAPCC for loving me and for walking beside me during my adoption journey.  The support, education, and love I received have positively affected my life in so many ways."  ~ CAPCC Client
