For a time such as this… We continue to celebrate! In a year of uncertainty, God reminds us that He is faithful! We are exceedingly thankful for both His faithfulness and for our community of supporters who have shown tremendous encouragement through this season.
Because of this, men, women and families impacted by an unexpected pregnancy and its effects have still been able to access the support they are looking for. Women in need of a stable place to live have had a safe home and community to welcome them. They have been given HOPE.
We continue to seek and honor your faithful support. As an organization, the Central Alberta Pregnancy Care Centre has pivoted, adapted and innovated to support our clients throughout Central Alberta, run our Maternity Home, and raise funds.
An area that has required the most modification is in how we operate the Maternity Home. Over the years we have been beyond blessed to connect with volunteers willing to give generously of their time. However, under the recent Alberta Health Services guidelines, the Maternity Home is classified as a congregate care facility. This means that we are no longer permitted to allow volunteers on site to help in the Home. Until some regulations are lifted, this has added additional operating and staffing costs to our budget in order to continue to provide the level of care required.
Pivoting how we continue to serve our community and do fundraising has been the primary focus of our team during the past several months. For such a time as this, being able to stay connected to those in need and provide a safe place with unconditional love and grace is critical.
Adoption is a brave choice
“I knew I wasn't ready to be a mother. I was not living a lifestyle that was conducive to properly raise a child. However, I loved the little life growing inside me and I knew she needed to be given a better chance in life than I was given and that I could provide.
I visited the CAPCC early in my pregnancy. I needed to find a way to protect this little life and make sure she would be given the best start to life as possible. All my counselling sessions were full of love and acceptance. I started to feel that what I wanted for her could be possible.
Adoption is a brave choice and it was the hardest thing I have ever done. I was so lucky to be chosen to live in Phase 1 of the Maternity Home for the duration of my pregnancy. I was able to live in a safe and loving environment where I could learn life skills that I still use today.
My sweet little girl is now with a loving family with all the opportunities that I prayed she would have. Thank you so much to the CAPCC for providing a safe environment for me to bring my child into this world and give her the best opportunity for a better start to her life. The support, education, and love I received has positively affected my life in so many ways. I hope that one day those skills will enable me to be a good mom when the time is right.”
