Parenting -- is it for me?

The thought of becoming a parent can be overwhelming at any time, especially if the news of your pregnancy is unexpected. Caring for a new life is indeed a big responsibility but it can also be one of life’s most rewarding experiences. As well as one-on-one support, we offer 2 parenting programs: Keys to Young Parenting and 24/7 Dad.

Keys to Young Parenting

Keys is a free, 10 week group program which provides education and support. This program has been running for over 17 years and is court recognized in Central Alberta. Keys is a closed group and provides information on both parenting and life skills. Some of the topics to be explored:

  • Communication skills
  • Stress and anger management
  • Building self-esteem
  • Child development & behaviour
  • Time management
  • Healthy and unhealthy relationships
  • Basic money management
  • Keeping children healthy
  • Child safety
  • Nutrition
  • Resources in your community

Dates for the group in Red Deer are:

  • Wednesday afternoons, 1:00 – 3:30 pm

    • September 13, 2017 to November 15, 2017

Dates for the group in Olds are:

  • Fall 2017

A parenting group just for Dads!  If you are already parenting or if you are going to be a dad soon, this might be just the group for you!

Drop in groups will begin Fall 2017.
